A beautiful Wedgwood cheese dome 19th century - circa 1840.
Possibly a wedding gift with the fine scottish thistle emblem on the dome
'married' with the English oak leaf border on the base.
This piece has a hair line on the inner bowl - but this doesn't go through
to the exterior & a small chip on the inner rim which cannot be seen when the dome is in place.
The dome has tiny decorated
'stink' holes on the lid - which are also embellished with jasper.
A fine, heavy example of 19th century Wedgwood. CDN$950
